Default Seat Selection

I need help with seat selection recommendations to help with siatic nerve problems in my rear end. I have a 2014 Street Glide XS with a stock seat. After about 50 miles, my siatic nerve starts to hurt something fierce. I am thinking a softer seat might help or one of those jell pads. Anyone have any recommendations?

Mean City Cycles is definitely the way to go. Your stock seat is a good seat except for the padding. Mean City will consult with you over the phone and design your padding using memory foam and/or gel pacs. They will also cut a channel for your tail bone. Tell them about your pain and see what they say. Oh yea, the price is very, very good.

I sent a seat to Mean City a few years ago and was very happy with the results. Count me as another who recommends them.

You might consider springing for an Ultimate seat... Best seat I've ever ridden in...not on....

Also depending on your budget I would suggest a Russel Day-Long seat. One of the best seats made!

Not being paid to ad for them...just know they are damn good.

In addition to my Ultimate seat I now also use a back belt. I wasn't sure about it at first but after several rides I am liking it. 2 back operations and I can ride very comfortable now. Ultimate has a trial period to ride, if not to your liking just return it. Mean City is also very good at what they do.
