Any HD tech with transmission knowledge?
Is there any yellow metal (brass or copper) parts (gears or bushings) in a HD transmission ?
I know that gearbox lub (75W90, 80W90, 75W140, 75W250) can corrode yellow metal when they reach 85C (185F).
Thanks!

No brass...
Aluminum case, all steel bearings/shafts/gears/forks. There is some plastic, used for bearing cages, and rubber used for seals/o-rings.
Oh, I'm not a tech, and I never stay at Holiday Inn Express. I'm just a frequent visitor to the inside of my transmission!

Yes there is some brass but not worth loosing sleep over. I think its one shifter bushing and 3 forks with brass.

Are you sure that's brass? Could it be titanium coating? I just checked Ronnie's microfiche, and they show no bushing on the shift pawl. Not testing your knowledge, just got me curious now...

I just went through my tranny and the shift pawl bushing was a coated brass type and no way that is a Ti coating. It was flaking off before I buffed them down The coating was about .007 thick. Its electroplated brass.
