Gerbings and bike batteries
So I bought some Gerbings heated gloves last winter and tried them for the first time last week. My bike is a 2012 and I've ridden it for two full seasons now. I plugged in the gloves and started up the bike. The bike turned over a little slow, but not too bad. After about 50 miles I decided to stop and gas up. I then tried to start her up and the bike wouldn't turn over. After about 3 or 4 tries, I decided to unplug the gloves. After that, the bike fired right up.
Any thoughts on that from you Gerbings guys? Should I not plug in the gloves until the bike starts? I don't keep the gloves on during start up, but they are plugged in. That shouldn't make any difference, right?

I've got gloves and jacket liner, never had that problem.. but I DO start the bike before turning the power to the heat controller on. When I first got the stuff I'd turn it on before starting the bike, but the heat didn't work.

I have Gerbings gear and I always wait until the bike is running before turning it on and turn it off before I shut down the bike. Why would you want to put that added strain on the battery?

I always plug everything in BEFORE starting my bike but never turn anything on until the bike is running. If the bike is drag assing on a start without anything on, I'd say you have a battery problem of sorts. Once the season is on (cold), I'll always plug the tender in, in between rides. My daily rides aren't always that long in duration to keep up with the added electrical load. I've been running this way for years without electrical / battery problems.

Same here, Gerbing's boot liners, pants and coat. I always start the bike then turn on the gear.

Something is wrong with your gerbing hookups. Most likely the one connected to your battery. This particular cable is the one that gave a friend trouble.

Read the instructions!!!! Start the bike, plug in the controller and then turn on. But it still sounds like a battery issue to me....
