Default Firewood in the damn road!

At stoplight, 2 lanes turn left, I'm in left lane. Three cars ahead of me, light turns green, make the turn & just as I get through the turn there is 2 big pieces of firewood in the middle my lane which I did'nt see because I was so close to the car ahead of me. I hit 'em both, rode over 'em with front wheel, then caught on my frame which levered me up then hit 'em with my rear. How I kept from going down I'll never know. I need to start keeping more of a safety cushion between me & the care ahead regardless of speed, you never know what the hell may be in the road.

Here, it's hard to maintain that 3 second or so distance, at any speed or even in the dual lefts. There is always some ******** who thinks that space is for them to cut over. Sometimes you feel like you're going backwards, as you slow to regain your distance behind him only to have some phoning soccer mom think the same thing and cut in on you now. Slow down to regain your following distance again. Lather, rinse, repeat.

Shouldn't be riding in the middle of the lane. Recommend riding in the left or right wheel track.

Keeping a safe distance is hard. I have to fight my tailgating urges when I'm behind a slowpoke. I usually do hang back since I like living though. I'll save that for my truck.

Years ago I was riding up telegraph road in Detroit and I was behind a semi ( getting ready to make a right turn ) when the truck came to a stop at the intersection I was amazed to see a large glass bottle jammed between the duals on the left rear
