Default Daymaker owners, where did you hook red wire?

Just wondering as I don't have the connector in the bucket. Pretty sure I just need to splice it into the accessory line, but what would be cleanest way?

Always hook the red wire to the detonator...

Seriously though, I don't remember the colour, but the extra wire I had was for a Passing Lamp switch that British-spec bikes don't have. I just curled it up and tucked it away.

Thanks for the reply.....a quick bit of research shows it might be for the Harley Emblem to light it up....In my excitement to get it going, I didnt even notice if it was lit up....

The extra wire on the headlight is for the international spec version bikes.

Many countries require a white light at the front to be illuminated at reduced intensity when the bike is in accessory mode. The extra wire illuminates the small led in the middle of the housing.

European spec cars have the same feature.

on International models that red wire must be connected for whatever stupid legal reasons.

Here it's not required however if you'll notice once it's connected to an accessory source, when you flip the ignition switch to accessory or ignition positions , the small HD logo in the center of the lamp lights up.

Thanks guys. Although I am in Europe, I don't need to follow German Tüv specs, so I am just going to leave it disconnected.

Cheers

The red wire is indeed for HDI use, not for domestic USA. Germans have a little parking light (very low drain on the battery type) that if they park on a street that is narrow they turn this light on overnight, kind of like a nightlight so other drivers don't run into their cars. I lived there for nearly 12 years in the Army so seen it always.

I just wrapped the connection up with electrical tape; at least the NSA can't track me
