Default Hog Skins Protective Vinyl

I don't have ant interest but a friend asked me about it so I'll throw it up to the forum, works great, invisable or snake oil.....I figure it won't last to long.

A friend of mine had his entire car (2013 Camaro) done with a 3M protective film. The car was dark blue and he had to show me where it was on the car because it was so hard to detect.

I just had my SG repainted and would like to cover the forward edge of the saddle bags, lids and side covers. I don't see a pre cut piece for the side covers. Mine got scratched to hell by drunk girls boots and don't want that happening again.

Thanks for the feedback all. I passed the 3m stuff on to him. Any more opinions?

I've had the 3M product on one of my cars that will be 10 years old next month and it still look almost new.
I had some of the covers removed because I had some custom paint work done but the rest of the 3M material remains as it was when it was applied to my car.

If I was going to have my bike done, I'd do the batwing fairing, the lower fairings, and maybe the saddlebag lids.
The front portion of the saddlebags get a lot of protection from the leather pouches I have on my bike (mostly for trips) but they just snap on and off.

Damn, I nearly passed my coffee through my nose.

It's funny the wild thing is mentioned in a thread about Hog skins. If I recall correctly, back in the late 80's, Harley put out condoms called Hog Skins.

I've Googled this but can't find any reference to Harley's Hog Skins condoms. Maybe my memory isn't serving me well.

So...Was it worth it??

Yes; I remember Hogskin condoms. The running joke was "Knowing how HD makes bikes, would you trust their condoms not to leak"?
