Default 14" Apes Install

Going to tackle this project tonight on my SG. Hoping I haven't gotten in over my head on this one?! I really want to do it on my own. Any words of advice would be greatly appreciated by those who have done it before! Thanks

everything but the wiring is sooo straight foward..my old sporty i used to cut up the harness all the time and re solder..soder?,whatever,lol..my street bob was brand new and just didnt wanna ***** with that so a harley tech i was tight with came to my house and did it for a 100 bucks. had him leave the wires outside the bars to make simple to make future bar changes, which i have and it really dont look that bad to me not having internal wiring, but thats just me.went from stock mini apes to 18's, no wire extentions needed, theres enuff bunched up in the frame.

if you want to do it right and run the wires thru the bars you will have to take ur tank off and disconnect ur control wires at the plugs and then individually pull each wire out of the harness to put ur extensions on which an be a pain in the rear but well worth it in the end i know it wasn't hard to pull my tank off my efi softail other than making sure the gas is out which i thought it was all out but there was about a 1/2 gal still in it which went all over the shed oops but anyway take ur time and read up on it and if you have the manual all the better and remember a lot of mistakes happen when u hurry and or get tired

Have the service manual handy and take your time.

I just finished putting 13s on my SG this past Sat. Do yourself a favor and just go ahead and bypass that green plug. It will save a ton of problems. I didn't have to pull my tank off. My brake line reached.
