Default DK Customs filter elements

A month ago or so I read about DK giving the option for their 587 air cleaner between the k&n or the amsoil synthetic filter. This isn't a debate to which one is better than that one thread. I like not having oil air filters and in my SUV I don't have to clean my MAF anymore, so I just got back from deployment and bought the amsoil element for my DK intake plus it matches the reapers eyes. Since there is a size difference I thought I would share what both filters look like on the bike for those that need to decide. On DKs website says the synthetic filter is a little bigger in diameter and wider. Enjoy!!

Thank you for posting the pics. I love the fact that the DK filters don't spew oil back into the intake, I just wish they had better looking covers.

I got one when I ordered my 587. I'm pretty happy with it so far. Even though it's a little wider it still isn't as wide as the screaming eagle stage 1 filter and kit that the 587 replaced.

They have full covers where you can't see the element, but I like the open look.

I've had the amsoil synthetic air filter in my SUV for two years now. No noticeable difference in power and feels the same as the airaid element, but less effort in cleaning and still looks close to new.
