Disgusting! The hunter's actions after the crime are even worse. They did not call 911, didn't attempt to help the downed rider, and bribed a teenage witness to assist in covering up their crime.

I saw this in the paper this morning. First I've heard of it. Just incredible. Not helping??? They should burn.

 

I know that in Colorado, and im sure in other states where hunting is a serious business/sport, that hunting offenses are enforced and penalized heavily. Im thinking that the elk was road kill? making them not hunters but does it really matter? Knowing people in that area they are taking offense to the fact the media are labeling them as hunters. That being said when you add the other nasty crimes here im thinking these guys will see serious jail time. They will deserve it. How do these guys live with themselves?

I live in Denver and got most all of the story over time. They shot the elk in the day and came back to collect it. Hooked up a rope and chain to the animal and strung it across the road then started to drag the animal toward the road. When the rider hit the rope and chain they were apparently stretched tight at almost chest/head level. The impact took the helmet off his head and cause of death was determined as head trauma.

These two guys have other records for DUI, and some other stuff. For the stupidity of them doing the chain and rope across the road they deserve everything they get. For the not calling 911 and witness tampering they really deserve soo much more.

They knew they did wrong and probably, since the riders helmet was ripped off his head and he died of head trauma, knew they couldn't save him. They were scared enough of their guilt that they bribed an eye witness. They were guilty enough that they feared calling EMS or LE. They are cowards with no sense of humanity. They deserve to hang by the neck until dead. We all know that real justice will not come from a court.

 

Wow, I live here and this is the first I heard about this story. Hopefully Karma repays these two guys for what they did in the form of double.
