Default Fuel Tank Float Removal - Help?

Hey Guys - Trying to empty tank to get the rust/crud/liner cleaned out, (1997 Dyna Wide Glide), and I can't figure out how to get the float unit out. Seems like the stuff inside is way too big to get out of the small hole. Any experience with that?

Thanks!

I've got this same thread started in the Dyna section too. If that's too much Mods, sorry about that, please delete this one I guess.

Dont know if yours has the reticulating arm but if so....

Use a long flat blade screw driver to push and release the hinged arm and it will straighten out allowing withdrawal

Remove the screws holding in the sending unit and you'll get it out with the right combination of moves eventually. They're notorious for being a real brain teaser (which also includes getting it back in again too). Hope ya' got a lot of patience...
