Screamin' Eagle 103 ci Big Bore Stage 1 Kit on a an 08 Fat Bob
Called the dealer this am and they want $1200.00 to do this work, parts and labor. I can get the kit from Surdyke for $559.96 and do it myself.
Anyone care to share their experience doing this upgrade work themselves? Pros/Cons.

pros= they'll most likely get it done for you in a couple days, and give some kind of warranty
cons= will take you a while, especially if you are not tooled up for the job, and it will cost you 600.00 more. ( by the way I have no idea of your mechanical abilities or equipment supplies)
its not that hard to do, and if yo are mechanically inclined, there is great satisfaction in doing it yourself. on the other hand , its a wise man that knows his limitations

There are some speciality tools involved you may or may not want but that make some of the steps soooo much easier. My slant on it is this - if you love to wrench, go for it, if not then pay somebody else.

you said the kit is 600.00 and they will do the job for 1200.00, thats 600.00 more than if you do it yourself
