Trying to fit a set of HD hard saddlebags to my CVO Fat Boy
Hi all,
I'm trying to fit a set of Harley Davidson hard saddlebags (ref 90715-05BPY) to my 2005 CVO Fat Boy and the left side one will fit ok but the Rigth side one will not clear the top muffler
Any idea what could I do in order to fit these saddlebags with the original exhaust? I would like to keep the original exhaust as I like the look.
Thank you
Carlos

I put these on my '11 Fatboy.
You can see them in my pic, hold considerably more than the H-D bags, and cost less than half as much.

Unless you're going to alter the pipe-side bag, it ain't gonna work. And you can't do that cause it will look too odd from the rear IMO having one bag altered/rolled on the inside bottom. LS or SS exhaust etc will work.
I have longhorns on mine. The top tip of the rear cylinder fishtail clears the bag. I used Cycle Designs mount for the bags but welded the frame instead of using the bolts/screws to assemble it. I also fabricated a pin/sleeve arrangement for the bottom mounts so I could more easily remove the frame. All the stuff on my bike is detachable... fairing, bags, and that 70's vintage shovelead tour pack in the pic. Strips down to the Fatboy in my avatar.
Good luck finding a solution to your challenge. Gotta love em.
