Default Key FOB question

I have had my bike a year now. When do I need to replace FOB or is it just a matter of replacing battery? If I replace battery, do the codes have to be reset? Sorry for newb question, but Im not sure what or when to do this.
Thank you

You need to replace the battery every year . It takes a round flat battery # 2032 .
and NO just replace the battery and your good . Do the battery the same day every year on an easy to remember day Your B-Day Or ??????????

Wow, I'm really behind, then. I don't think I've changed my batteries in 3 years. I do carry a spare one, but I guess it's time to rotate my stock.

Usually you can tell when the battery is starting to get weak when it has a hard time finding the FOB - but better safe than sorry I say and replace once a year as the batteries are pretty cheap.

I carry a spare battery with me!

Come to think of it, I've never changed the one for the car and I've had it for 4 years.
