Bikes and Semi's - safety tip
#2
Do not spend any more time than you have to riding anywhere next to a Semi.
When coming up to one from behind, I watch his mirrors (you can see the driver) for any sign that he notices me.
When safe to pass, I get around him as quick as safely possible.
None of that riding next to him for a mile with the cruise set at 1 mph over his speed.
Get around them, then resume your normal cruising speed.

When on the slab trucks can be all around you. They're impossible to avoid. I spend as little time around them as possible. When I pass one I do it wide open throttle. I never want to ride beside a semi. Passing a convoy can get a bit unnerving. Especially if there are little to no gaps between the rigs.
I prefer to not be directly behind one either and avoid it if possible. If I can't, I'll slow down a bit and lengthen the distance between me and the truck then resume my speed.
