Default Tire Repair

Looking for a tire repair kit to pack away in my bags. I bought a small pump that will plug into my 12V socket from the local auto parts store but all of tire repair kits say they are for Cars, Lawnmowers, Trucks, etc.. None of them specifically said they were for Bikes, but I was kind of thinking a tire is a tire. Will they work or is there something specifically designed for a bike tire? What do you use?

i have the stop 'n go. it's supposed to be a whole lot better than the rope plugs, but thankfully have never had to use it.

NO.
A little pump provides unlimited air..a slow leak after an emergency repair will wipe out a CO2 collection.
You have tubes or no tubes?
A tubeLESS tire can be addressed many times with a string plug.
A tubed tire is a different animal and if the TUBE is torn you are screwed.. If tube is punctured then sometimes a slime product, ride-on or similar can get you going along with the pump until you reach safety.

There is a guy on ebay that has a little business doing the same:

Then there is the slime brand pump:

I made my own like in the webbike world with another brand of pump for about $15 and have rescued myself and others.

I use a plug kit and small air pump.
Mine is just a generic tire pug kit.

I've used it and put thousands of miles on plugged bike tires.

I carry one of these http://www.dynaplug.com/pro.html and a small, good quality air compressor. I have used the dyna plug kits since they first came out and for a nail or screw, work really well. For a cut, not so much. But still - plugged tires on track cars, personal cars, bikes and trailers. Never had a plug fail. Dyna Plug makes some cheaper kits (wander around on their site a bit, but I like the compactness of this one.

same here. the mushroom shaped plugs are much better then the strings and less likely to blow out.

I have the same in my bike. Never had to use it yet but I like the peace of mind knowing that I have it in the bags.
