Default Wife in California, I did it!!

Well, the wife is in California helping our daughter who is having her first baby and doesn't have other family there to help other than her husband who is in the Air Force. So..................

Went to the dealership and bought a 2014 Road King in vivid black. Since it looks a whole lot like the 2011 I traded in for it, and since I can't figure out how to post a picture from my cell phone, and since you've all seen them anyway, I won't post a picture.

But man, what a difference between the two bikes. Feels like a LOT more power, and it certainly handles better with the new, stiffer, front end! I'm ecstatic!!! And other than grips, chrome passenger board covers, and the rear run/turn/brake module, it's going to stay stock. For a while.

It cost me nothing out of pocket, and they're picking up the TT&L. Why would she be mad???

Hey, one other piece of information for you. I found out today that if you want the extended service plan, you can now have that coverage for up to 12 years! I decided on a three year, and was told I can extend that anytime I wanted at the locked in price we did today. Tire and wheel warranty!!!!

YEP the Rushmores are a whole lot better. Traded in my 2012 Road King for one after two months. Forgot all about the Indian. Love the new bike. I didn't get the ESP because i paid $12K cash on top of the $13K and my 07 Yamaha I paid for the RK two months ago. Yeah that was enough to lay out for now. I have two years.

Good luck with it. This is the first bike in a long long time that makes me want to go for a ride....to nowhere.

So when will you tell her you bought a new RK?
Congrats for the new grandpa.

He probably doesn't have to....Same color. My wife doesn't care much what I buy. She knows I won't bankrupt us. I came home with the Ultra two months after I bought a 2012 Road King. FLRH

She knows, but reception out there is pretty bad. So when I sense that rise in her voice, I tell her she's cutting out and hang up.

I didn't think about one thing. I could have kept it from her altogether. Doubt she'd even know the difference with them both being black and this one set up the same way. LOL

The betterhalfs are more in-tune to us than most guys are of themselves.
Good to hear your buttons are popping everywhere with good now.

Ha. In 2012 my dad bought and dropped his new ultra off in my garage along with the trailer. Told me to break it in. I test rode it and and waxed it up for him. My wife swore up and down she knew it was actually mine. I called and told him what she thought. He called her up and told her he didn't know what i was trying to pull, but that it was was mine, as he wants red. She came flying out into the garage and said, I told you I knew it was yours. He finally came and picked it up and I told her " see it isn't mine". The best part is, I told her we had to take the bike in warranty work that next week and that is when I picked up and brought mine home. They are identical bikes , so she thought he dropped it back off again, until she saw him riding his with mine still in the garage.
