Default Wind or Rain

Just curious but what would you rather ride in if you had to choose: Wind or Rain?

Yesterday me and the wifey went for a ride and it ended up being 1-1/2 hours of riding into or against 25-30 mph winds and it got me thinking...

Rain. More choices. I can stop and throw on gear, or look at the radar and either wait it out or pick a direction that will get me out of it faster. No options with wind. It just blows.

Me and the ol' lady have traveled a few time now where we had to battle the wind. 25-30 and sometimes with gusts even higher. It makes for a challenging ride, but I think I would pick wind over rain. But I hate getting wet. kind of a ocd thing I guess. and actually we have been pretty lucky so far (just been riding a year and a half), we haven't been in the rain too much. actually nothing real bad yet.

Wind any day. Here on the east coast (western NC) winds usually die down after sunset unless it's a large storm front passing through. Rain can last for days in some cases and not only is it a bitch to navigate in safely it trashes your bike and can soak through some of the best clothing out there eventually.

Why pick here on the Left/West Coast you can have them both together. What fun! I 'd rather ride in wind. It's blowing but dry.

They both suck, but I will ride in either.

In Texas, it rains very little in the summer. But the winds blow almost always out if the south and at 15-25mph, like this weekend. Going east to west is okay but not going south.

So, I'll take the wind any day.

Depends on the amounts.

I will take wind up to 20 mph after that give me the rain. My bikes ability in the rain (especially with the car tire) have never let me down. Give me time to don my Hi Vis rain suit and will I gladly drive through a toad strangler.

I just hate having to clean the bike after riding in the rain....

Wind is tiring, but at least you're dry when you get where you're going.

It was a rare day here in Virginia yesterday when I was riding in 35+ wind. Some gusts took my sunglasses halfway off. It all depends. Rain on the BRP is cool. It keeps the car drivers down and there are no trucks to throw spray. Rain on the interstate sucks bad.

But the wind yesterday was nothing compared to riding on I-90 or I-94 when it's blowing a couple a thousand miles south out of Canada across tundra then plains then the side of your bike.

It all depends.
