Is this bike worth it?

Is this bike worth it?
I looked at an 02' Ultra Classic that had been laid down, then rebuilt into a Street Glide lookalike. It was rebuilt with a Screaming Eagle 95" engine with SE intake and SE cams. The odom reads 40k, however the rebuild was under 5k ago.
There is a tiny oil drip under the final drive/oil pan. The left hard bag requires a different key, that doesn't exist, to lock it. This tells me the bike was laid down on the left side and that bag was replaced.
It has a rebuilt title, and he wants 10k for it. I don't really know how to value this bike, since it wasn't restored to original condition.
I rode it briefly and it's quite enjoyable. Overall the bike looks awesome.

rebuilt title means its a salvage bike in my mind. If he was the one who laid it down and bought the bike back after the insurance company after they totaled it that one thing but anything else it would hold a fair to good Nada value thats it. MHO Do a car fax on it no matter what that will tell you alot.

Don't walk RUN away from that deal, you can find 09s for 13,000, and 08 and down to about 04 for about 8,500-12,000.
An 02 in perfect shape wouldn't be worth more than 8,000 unless someone really wants it.

I just sold an '02 Deuce, salvage title, got $5K for it. Deuces here going for $10-13K and not as nice looking as mine. Look in ads, cycle trader or whatever to see what one with a clean title goes for in comparable condition, and consider that no bank will finance, not every company will insure it and you won't be able to trade or consign it.

Thanks everyone. The general consensus seems to be that even having been rebuilt with all the SE parts, it's well over-priced. Great feedback. I try not to let my emotions dictate this type of decision. Then I rode it, twisted the throttle and thought, "I need this."

Waayy too much money for what you are looking at. Higher mileage, salvage title, and a rebuild but no clue how good a job was done (leaks already are not a good sign). Unless you are getting a great deal (like less than $5 grand), there are MANY other options in that price range.

If you want it, buy it... You are the only one that has to be satisfied when the day is over. Make your own decision. Why give a rat's *** what someone else thinks? If you are waiting for a validation of your own opinion then why the hell even formulate it? Buy it!!!

I hear ya Hippie. I just legitimately don't know how much the SE 95", intake and true duals add to the value. Is it enough to overcome the questions surrounding the rebuilt title, small oil leak shortly after rebuild, and surpass KBB by $200 for that model year?
