Default Friend got hit

Yesterday, a close friend of mine, rode his RG to our small town to get parts for a car he was working on. On the way in a truck pulling a fishing boat, had the trailer come off the hitch ball and started running backwards and turning into him. He swerved and missed the boat, but the car coming from the other direction clipped him. He has one ankle shattered and will need several surgeries to repair, and a bone chip out of the other leg, and a serious case of road rash, but will survive. He had his helmut on so no damage to his brain they said. His bike will be totaled I think. It's like they say, you never know.

Wow, what a freak accident - sorry to hear he couldn't avoid it and was injured - just happy to hear that it wasn't worse

glad he's going to recover. i'd bet about anything the guy with the boat didn't have safety chains or a breakaway system hooked up.

Glad to hear it wasn't worse than it is,good luck to your friend.

In the late 80s I was going down Needles Pass (Ca.) on I40 when a small rental Uhaul box trailer came loose ahead of me. Guy was going too fast and trailer got to weaving and bucking and came loose and flipped a couple times before going off the road. I seen it happening and backed off before it got ugly. He either wasn't using safety chains or they ripped loose.

Damn, that's awful luck. Still, I suppose you always have to be grateful for what you have, and I'm glad to hear he's going to be okay.

+1 on the breakaway chains. I smell a lawsuit coming. Very happy to hear that your friend survived and will be ok.
