Abandoned Harleys Get New Life in Holland
Ever wonder what happened to all those Harley-Davidson motorcycles left in Europe after WWII? Turns out that quite a few of them escaped the scrap pile. It seems the Dutch knew a good thing when they saw it and reconditioned many machines that were left behind.

Wow, that yellow side hack "Wegen Wacht" translates to "highway watch" or "road watch" .
Iraq and Afghanistan also have a huge pile of military gear we left behind.

All of those photos were taken at just one base! Just imagine the total numbers of motorcycles left out in those "dumps".

Dunno that many people will be gettting all misty-eyed and trying to restore much of that in years to come though...

Somehow I'm not seeing some guy dumping a couple years and a ton of money into restoring a " classic " twinkie 30 years from now

Did anyone else click on any of the links at the bottom?
One was about early military design and some created a 4-wheeled device that was power by 3 men riding in tandem - one behind the other.
The design was turned down because.....
THE REAR MOUNTED MACHINE GUN POINTED AT THE BACK OF THE HEADS OF THE 2 FRONT GUYS.
Looks like someone would have said when drawing up the design, "Uh, fellas. I think we might have a slight problem here."
