Default Rachet strap to fork sliders or triple trees?

I know theres a million threads about this, but I just need a quick answer from someone knows. I loaded my bike into my pickup and all I need to know is if it's better to strap the front end down on the sliders so it doesn't compress the springs, or around the forks above the trees?

I normally strap it to the sliders, where the fender connects, just don't use the handlebars!

Dealerships haul bikes all the time, So I asked how they do it. With the bike on its kick stand, They connect the left side strap to the frame and remove all the slack but do not tighten. Attach the right side strap to the frame and ratchet it until the bike is upright. this puts the forks compressed the correct amount. my RK has a place between the down tubes to attach the S hooks. Hope this helps.

I've found the best point is where the engine guard mounts to the frame.
One on each side and then ratchet down.

I had the Kuryakyn chrome, tie-down hooks that mount to the front forks on my old bike and I've got a new set to put on my bike this week.
They look cool and they're super easy to use.
I also plan on buying two sets of the H-D tie down straps with the safety spring that prevents the hooks from bouncing loose if you get too much slack in the strap.

Just don't use hooks from the ratchet strap on the bike. Attach the hooks to soft webbing attached to the bike.
I use the triple tree and the top of the shock mounts on my Super Glide when tying it down.
These are the "soft hooks".
