Default Handling dips in the road

Help settle a debate... What do you guys do?

Recently on a ride one of our members hit his break prior to entering a mid size dip in the road (not a pot hole). the front tire squeaked. He then let off the brake and rode it through. Others just rode it through.

the issue was that some said he could have gone over the high side if he hadn't let off the break in time.

What do you guys think?

Just keep going... if I have mid glides I'll try to stand up a little and get my *** off the seat and let the bike do more of the work.

I use my 2 portable shocks (my legs) and go into a short squat when passing thru a "dip" in the road. Why anyone would hit the brakes puzzles me, and a lot of riders / drivers do just that. If you have to "hit the brakes" then you probably weren't paying attention.

when ever i come on something like that i just slow down a bit and take it easy thru those dips... no sense in hurting the bike because you wanna push it to hard

If I know it's coming, like a posted sign, I let off the gas but I rarely put on the brakes. And surely not just the front.

Yep, I lift my *** off the seat a little and just keep on going. A little dip in the road isn't going to hurt the bike.

I never give it a thought and just keep riding.

I did tell a dip in the road to stop texting last night.

I usually gas it right before I hit the dip to load the rear suspension. Probably does nothing on a big bike but is just a natural reaction from off-road and motocross riding.

It depends if I can see it coming and what kind of dip. Theres some dips I dont even notice, theres others I try to "jump" Evil Kinevil style.
