Exhaust keeps loosening
I just installed my Tab exhaust (no baffles) about a month ago and the bottom pipe seems to continue loosen up when i ride. Im using the chrome clamps i had on my stock exhaust. The top exhaust hasn't loosened up once. Finally thurs before i headed out on a four day road trip i used locktight. The bolt seems to be tight on there but the pipe is loose. Its almost like it would need a bracket to support it. Any ideas? Something so simple and i am stuck. Im thinking of cranking it even tighter but it was pretty tight on there. Could the clamp be stripped even though it still tightens? Im thinking that the other side of the bracket might be stripped??

You asked on the wrong forum...this is for Harleys.
JUST KIDDING!! Actually, whenever you change exhaust, you MUST use new exhaust clamps, as they are 1 time ONLY use, just like the rear sprocket bolts. Sometimes you can get away with it, but they are cheap enough that you should change 'em!

"Ha ha", still a harley.
I am headed over to Seminole HD when they open this morning to get a clamp.
But cheap? Damn I want your budget to define cheap. These are $100 for the set. I guess because they are the chrome one. http://www.harley-davidson.com/store...ersion=desktop
Thanks

Did you possibly "over-torque" the pipe so these joints are bent (i.e. crimped/oval vs. round)? I've seen this happen where the slip-on was tightened too much so the pipes were misshaped to a point where an entire new exhaust was the only fix...
