Default 1st service question

I just purchased a new 2014 Street Glide. First service as most know is at 1000 miles. I will be leaving on a trip that is around 1800 miles and will not be able to do a first service (I do service myself) till I get back from the trip. I will be lucky to get 500 miles on the bike before I go on this trip because of my job. I can check all the other things I need to do for the service just cant change fluids until I get back. Will this be ok to change fluids when I get back from my trip. Thanks

I think you don't want to leave it that long. Make an exception and stop at a dealer for fluid change only is my opinion.

Stop while on your trip & get it serviced. The 1K is important.

Why do it yourself when it's under warranty?

Do it before you leave.

The 1k is probably the most important service. Find a dealer on your trip!

When I buy a new vehicle, I change the fluids at 50, 500, & 1000 miles. I wouldn't do what you're planning. Like a couple posters said--stop at a dealer & pay for a service. Your bike will love you for it.

I changed mine at 100 miles also. I would at least change the oil and filter once before going on that long of a trip. A lot of metal in those first few miles.

So will the dealer he stops at. Who knows, maybe they'll throw you a freebie or two for driving all that way just to have them perform your service.
