Default $100 to mount a tire?

am i getting screwed here? i figured $25 bucks at most? what is going on at my local stealership that ONE TIRE mounting costs $100. thinking about just buying the damn machine myself.

let's see, $1400 machine to mount and balance motorcycle tires, assuming it averages to 1 tire per year, and i'll be riding for the next 50 years, the price will balance out (+ or - inflation over the years) in about 11-14 years.

Forget air suspension, i'm going with a tire changer

Get your tires online and take them to cycle gear for mounting and balancing. You have to take the rims off the bike though.

I don't like paying someone, to do what I can do, relatively easily.
That said, I have a couple of these, and some rim protectors, and DIY.

YMMV.

That is a pretty typical price at a dealership. I usually buy from Dennis Kirk and have them put on by an Indy, usually 40 bucks at home but had to have one put on a couple days ago by a Florida Indy for 80. I use Ride On so no need to balance.

Yeah, you're getting screwed. I took mine last time to a guy my dad knows and he charged me $50 to mount both tires and that included taking the wheels off the bike. No indy I've talked to has quoted anywhere near that price for both let alone one.

I always shopped motorcycle super store and brought it to a local dealer. Around 50 or 60$ all said and done. I'm not very tire savvy so no clue how to change. Difficult?

You don't even say if that's dragging in the wheel and tire,or riding the bike into the dealer.WTF? Did You but the tire there?
Sounds like a good idea buying the tire machine. I'm sure you can make $1600 in a year's time mounting and balancing tires for your buddies-oh,don't forget to factor in the cost of insurance when you do your bud's tires.
