Default How Motorcycles Are Made

If your interest in old motorcycles extends into how they were made in the factory, then you'll want to check out all four of these factory photo collections. Of course, the Harley-Davidson collection is the largest, but the Indian collection is the newest. For those looking for something a little different, check out the Vincent and Lewis Cycle and Motor Works collectionsl

seeing all those drive belts reminds me of the first factory I worked at 18, Nicholson File in 1969 still used overhead main shafts to run the machines. No guarding whatsoever..

OSHA wasn't around in those days.

very cool, amazing how they pumped out as many machines as they did back then. And the spray booths, no masks no venting. That would have been a history class that kept my attention.

I live about 30 minutes down the road from Stevenage. It's a depressing and kinda lifeless industrial town - really more like an industrial centre with some houses around it and a very 1960s "New Town" layout (lots of roundabouts and pedestrian underpasses etc). It's amazing to me that Vincent's were built there. These days it's more famous for being where EADS Astrium build satellites and missiles...
