Default Thoughts on HOG Membership

I just received a renewal notice in the mail. $45 for 1 year. Is it worth it? The only real benefit in my mind is the roadside assistance...

This topic comes up a lot of this forum. IMO, it depends on the local chapter. National membership never meant anything to me, but you have to belong to HOG national if you want to join a chapter. If its a good chapter with friendly, open people, then HOG is worth joining. I have met some nice people who continue to be friends of mine outside of HOG. If its a chapter that already has cliques in it, then its not worth the effort.

The only reason I keep mine is the AT&T discount I get for being a member more than pays for itself

never had good luck with their roadside assistance, so no benefit to me. i've got roadside and trip interuption through my insurance co. the only time i'm a hog member is with a new bike purchase. i won't renew.

the other discounts i can get for other reasons (usaa, military, etc.) so that doesn't do anything for me either.

It's difficult for us to make up your mind for you.

Do YOU feel that the roadside assistance is worth $45 ? There's your answer.

HOG membership doesn't offer anything I can't get on my own.

Thousands of posts in this forum, pro and con, regarding HOG membership benefits and you dare to insert logic and personal choice into this thread. Have you no shame?

I have everything that HOG offers with my insurance company, so the only attraction was the "club" rides and get togethers. But since I did my clubbing years ago and prefer to ride solo now, there wasn't anything that made me want to join.

+1. Three months of AT&T discount pays for a year of HOG. No brainer for me.
