Removing wrapping from v&h big round baffles
Was thinking of getting a little more sound from my V&H Monster Round slip ons. Approaching 9000 miles on my bike (RKC). I've looked for youtube clips for instructions but found none. Has anyone did this and should I or not?
I completed this last night. Pretty easy.
1. Tape both pipe and tip (I used blue painters tape) and mark for proper line up when reassymble.
2. Remove two screws on the under side of pipes.
3. Get a rubber glove and wrap around the tip. Using a Oil Filter Wrench twist off the tip. THe baffle is attached to the tips.
4. Pull out about 4-5 inches and unwrap the fiberglass wrapping.
5. Using a rubber hammer gently tap tips/baffle back inside pipe line your marks up on the tape. This aligns the screw holes.
6. Screw in screws and you're done!
7. Time about 20 minutes.
This doesn't make a huge difference but it does give them a deeper growl especially gearing down. Hope this helps the person wandering how to remove wrap from baffles on the V&H Monster Rounds. I'd recommend for those wanting a little more loudness.
