Default moving to NW Austin TX

I've heard there are some good places to ride near Austin. I'm moving the weekend of June 6th. Any suggestions?

Locally: Lime Creek Road, 1431, 2769, Park Road 4, Hamilton Pool Road, Nameless Road, Ronald Reagan Dr, 2222, Hwy 620 (non-traffic times).

Head west and get into the real Hill Country near Fredericksburg and Bandera.

Head SouthWest. Check some maps, search here for roads. You will be an easy ride from the "Texas Hill Country", bring water to drink, there are rivers to swim in. A good example for a search is "twisted sisters" FM 335,336, 337. Heat is an issue June-October. Made an early/late rider out of me.

You are going to like the riding once you are away from traffic...here in my area near Houston getting away from traffic takes 2 hours, then another hour to the first curve and another hour to the first hill.

Welcome, ride friendly

Look up the roads in the triangle formed between Austin, San Antonio and Kerrville. Plenty of weekend rides.

I really like Austin. Lake Travis is a beautiful lake, although it's probably down 20' like most lakes in Texas. A lot of eating places around it too...or there was many years ago when I was there last.

You're moving here the weekend before the ROT Rally, you realize that right? Get your house in order and hit the bike for some fun.
It will be a madhouse here. If the rally is your thing, there's tons to do that next weekend at the rally, and downtown.
If not, hit the hill country towards Marble Falls, Kingsland, Llano, (1431, 29, Park Road 4) tons of smaller roads that are great out there just go get lost for a while. Then head southwest to Blanco, Fredericksburg, Kerrville..you can't go wrong.

Ditto, I moved back to Louisiana 9 years ago and I often wish I would have stayed. Still go back to visit from time to time.
