Inspect it closely before leaving the store.

I gave the lamp a quick inspection but it wasn't until I got home that I discovered a copper flake sitting on the lens.

Is this really a problem? No. Will it bug the crap out of me because this overpriced flashlight costs $400+ and I expect some level of quality? Absolutely.

I'll try to get it swapped out tomorrow but sometimes HD can be a little weird about returns.
