Alice Pack as Sissybar Bag

Alice Pack as Sissybar Bag
Has anyone ever used their Alice pack (without the frame) as a sissy bar bag? I've been looking at motorcycle luggage when I realized I probably could save some dough by using my old Alice Pack as a sissy bar bag... thoughts anyone?

I thought about doing it one time. I had the middle height backrest w/luggage rack. Just needed a pocket sewn on the back to slip over the backrest and then secure the bottom straps to the luggage rack. You'd need to trim and secure the rest of the straps.

I didn't get to keep my Alice Pack when I got out, but over the years I've almost bought one a couple times. I've found some on various websites, but when I read the reviews, they are made out of different material than the ones I was issued and the reviews say they aren't as heavy a material.

I would think the Medium or Large Alice would be too large for a bike especially with the shoulder straps and kidney pad/belt unless they were cut short. The newer 3 day assault packs are better suited for this I would think. I have one I've used on my SG and its perfect. I think it's official nomenclature is MOLLEII Assault Pack. You might want to look into the MOLLEII Waist Pack as well.

yep... dug out the Alice pack & frame... took it off the frame (so there went the straps) & it's like it was made for my bike. It's the large Alice Pack (circa 1984) so it has plenty of pockets & lashing grommets... I just saved my self between $100 -$200!!!
