Default Front Oxygen Sensor Inactive

Top exhaust was rattling and found the rivets holding the baffle in had worked loose. Dealer removed and replaced rivets. Did a short ride and noticed the check engine light come on. Checked the codes and it indicates Front Oxygen Sensor Inactive.

Would the mechanic have to mess with the sensor to remove and replace the rivets and possibly didn't get it put back correctly?

Thanks.

I cleared the code and the check engine light is out and the ECM is showing N now. Thinking the mechanic didn't reset it after the work. Who knows.

Yeah it is kind of lame. Rivets loose at 10k miles? I can't say with 100% certainty the mechanic messed up on the sensor though. Have to keep an eye on it.

But you could go back and say nicely that the front sensor is throwing a code since you fixed the rivets, before too much time goes by

Oh I'll be back there tomorrow morning. This dealer treats me quite well and we have a pretty good relationship. I've gotten to know a few of the folks that work there personally. Why I haven't been bashing the mechanic, not sure if he is the cause or not. Heck even if he is what good would barking at him do?
