i been screwing with the f/a mix on my '09 bones
using a pcv power commander. from the factory, the mix is set too lean so it can meet left wing, commie, obammy emissions requirements. this is good for the bugs and trees but the higher combustion temps don't do the bike much good. it ain't too hard but I'm old (68) and not that smart (was a marine). I'm using an infra red temp sensor to record egt before and after the tweak. not really looking to go faster just get it to run a bit cooler .
anybody here doing anything similar? any tips would be appreciated
to keep the epa happy, when I get done i'll go hug a tree and kiss a bug.

I dont have the answer
I dont have the answer to cooling you down but after spedning time in Asia and India, I welcome the EPA.. Its nice not to taste the air as your breathing it..

You can't set the AFR thru out the entire range of operation by checking the exhaust temperature. The power commander makes changes at 250 rpm intervals. Just adding fuel without knowing how much your adding, might make it run worse.,,

Not familiar with the commander but I used a premade map from a dyno run to tweak my 03 with a sert. Bike is a lot fatter. Mileage dropped to 36 mpg. Oil temp dropped by a few degrees. Been so long ago I don't remember off the top of my head the exact temp drop. That and synthetic oil cooled down my engine. I am not willing to get off of my *** to find the numbers right now.

I've been doing the same thing as you
I've got my AFR'd down into the 13to1 and 13.2 to one and 13.5 to 1 in some of the map. I find it's helps immensely for cooling while riding in the city. I only run this map in the warmer season and lean it out to about 13.7 or 13.8 in the cooler riding season.
