Keeping throw over bags on??
Hello,
I have a pair of old throw over leather saddlebags, but don't know how to keep them on the bike without them just falling off. There isn't anything to tie them to. Does someone sell a top fender harness or something for easy release when I leave the bike?
Suggestions please.
Thank you

There are these "things" called Bungi Cords. Ever heard of 'em? Or maybe just run them under the P-Pad.

There isn't a passenger seat to use as an attachment and bungee cords would still have to have a place to string them to.
I am looking for a better solution if someone has one.

could get a solo rack to run them under. Fender bib might work. Use the screw for the passenger seat and punch a hole the part that goes over the fender. FYI though, they will probably rub the finish on your fender. Make a strip of steel that goes between the rear seat and driver seat bolts to run them under. I'm sure if u thought about for a minute you could come up with a few ideas.

This is for a 1969 Shovelhead. The left chain guard and an installed metal rod that travels from right fender side front to back keeps the bag from hitting the moving parts, but the top cross over leather slides forward and back. The idea about the fender bib seems like something that I could make up and I guess could rivet snaps on.
The u support would be fine and then I guess you just create some tie offs for the support.
Thank you Aaresz

Some of us have been known to drill a couple of holes in the back of each bag, & then use a zip tie to secure the bag to the bikes frame. With a knife in your pocket & a handfull of ties in the bag, your bags won't flap like hungry seagull.
