Default Joining the 124" club.

Well after a few issues with trying the 107" I gave up and sent my cases off to Kirby for a mild and hopefully bullet proof 124" My goal isnt gobs of power and a full potential 150hp club build but a daily driver 100k build. Compression under 11-1 and only a 585 cam. All S&S internals except the pump. I do not want to have to open her up for a few years! The only weak link I see is the comp but nothing can be done with that for now. Hopefully all the weak links in the powertrain have been addressed. I just rebuilt the tranny, Sportsman clutch, Baker adjuster, gen III comp, and new belt. I probably wont see it at my door for another month or a tad more. Even a low HP 124" should be ample for my needs. The 107" was more than enough power except I thought headwork would have made the responsiveness better. Only bummer is S&S doesnt have an all black cyl yet unless custom ordered. Only foreseeable issue is finding a canned map for this build with the PV so I can buy the auto tune add on. If no canned map can be found I will have to decide on a dyno tuner.

I'm a friend of Dennyo's. Are you going to have that beast together in time to ride up to the Sacramento Mile with us?

I should have the motor in a month then prolly a dyno tune. I hope so. I have a non refundable room at the same place Denny is staying.

Its going to be fun. Kirby figures it will be right at 130/130.

You sure on the auto tune, had it in my build and it sucked, never quite knew what it wanted.

Interested in following this.

Started as a 96" right? Probably not much other than the stock cases left. Heads?

Since you say 130/130 will belt drive still support it?

Any additional head work planned? Or is the prior work on the 107" sufficient?

Yea went from 96" to 107" with DH crank and now the only stock thing will be the cases and the cam chain and sprockets. 110" worked over heads. Here's the build sheet plus a new Bandit clutch.

If I stay away from wheelie's and track days the belt will do fine and I just rebuilt the tranny including a 08+ input shaft.

Here is a nice FXR a customer built with a custom ordered S&S 124 in black. Obviously he has the polished edges on the fins. It took about 6 weeks to get built and arrive to us. He told me he almost wrecked the bike on the first outing as it has so much power. This one is built to stock S&S spec with 640 cams, some crazy high compression, etc.

Im tech challenged so I might do the dyno thing. Have to find a guy first. Closest guy ive herd of is Chris Rivas in Fresno I think or a guy in the bay area or LA area.

Yea my cams will be on the small side and mild compression to make longevity. I ride about 20k a year. She's gotta last or mama aint gunna be happy. I had to drain her new kitchen fund for this. Put the kitchen back 2 more years. If my bike was a toy then id go with the Star Racing 124" with B2 heads.

He said it woult take about 1K worth of work on my stock heads to make them work. Cheaper to start with 110" heads.
