Default who wears hi-viz?

anybody here wear a hi-vis vest or jacket? i've been wearing the vest for about 3 months now, and boy, what a difference it has made. sure it's not "cool" but i tell you, i definitely get noticed more often. am i one of the few? i don't see many riders out there wearing one

I love it too.
I never get anything in black or brown leather when it comes to bikes.
I prefer all that stuff the sport riders have.
Pink, green, lyme the louder the color the better.
Could give a ratts *** what anyone thinks of it. I'll come visit you at the ER.
As long as people see me on the road I'm happy.

I don't, but I see it more and more often now days. It definitely makes one more visible so it does what it's supposed to do.

since i work on a military base, i had to wear hi viz during the daylight, and reflective at night. i bought a hi viz, reflective, mesh jacket so i could just wear that and not have to deal with the vest also. they have since changed the requirements, no longer have to have hi viz, but i still wear my mesh. not gonna run out and buy a new jacket over it.

I have a hi-viz shirt with reflective striping on it that I wear at night or on cloudy days.

Not anymore since the military no longer requires me to. I didn't really notice any difference and I went back and forth since on base was the only place I had to wear it. I don't believe it does much good but if you like it then by all means. The biggest threat to us is a driver who isn't even looking in the first place. No amount of lighting or even a neon colored bike will help with that. There was a thread a while back about a cop who was running code on his bike and was killed by someone who "didn't see him". That just tells me I have to do the best I can to look out for myself.

If I wore anything like that, it'd be a yellow, long sleeve shirt that says CAN YOU SEE ME NOW?

I don't wear one and won't. Do they work yes and no, with the distracted drivers today I have seen where police cars, highway workers and read a news story a year ago where a lady was killed by a girl who drove over her at a light. So if it makes you feel safe then wear one.

One man's experience does not a statistic make but weird headlight configurations and "Daylighter" headlamps have earned me welcome stares from left turners of late. With my stock headlamps, the obligatory glances as (car) wheels continued rolling were disconcerting. This has all but stopped.
