Default Opinion on wheels?

I think I already know what I want to do, but I want to hear some opinions from other riders that won't give me **** at the bar. (Well, some of you might)

So in a previous thread, I was bitching about some shoddy work, but after sleeping on it for a few nights and talking to my shop, I'm all better now. He's covering the work/labor/parts.

Well, now the shops talking about taking the entire hub apart and fabbing a spacer/adapter for the current wheel...as well as 5 heli-coils to hold the bolts in. I dont know if I want to take this risk...and time. Now. I'd love (LOVE) a deuce wheel on the back. I love the solid, but finding a 16" deuce wheel in somewhat decent shape is difficult...

My question is...would you guys go with a fat boy rear wheel (16x3)and try to polish it up real nice or would ya'll opt to wait on the fabbing/remachine process? I mean this is all if I can talk him into buying a wheel that'll be plug and play vs using the time of his 4-man shop thats been backed up for weeks.

Whatever it takes,I'd replace that wheel. Helicoils? In a wheel? One maybe, but not all five.

Thats what I'm thinking....the easiest would definately be to put a 40 spoke wheel on there...but I'm kind of skiddish with putting that on the rear of my bike...I fear the one time I hear of spokes snapping would be mine. :P

2003 CVO uses a solid wheel (like Fatboy) that's polished. Maybe that would work.
