Default Police Training California Style

Check out the HDForums home page for some cool shots of Burbank, CA policemen training on their 1960 Panheads. Who says you can't jump a Duo-Glide...

Whoa! That middle picture on that links page, that's nuts! Great pictures and a good read! I'll bet they don't do that now.

Man I wish there were more pictures. I would love to see if they got one of my dad. That is where he trained and became a CHP...in 1960! He said they would also go to the Berkley football field where they would turn on the sprinklers and they rode around on the wet grass to get use to the feel of the bikes sliding.

Here's pop:

It's one thing to ride your own bagger in the dirt and over jumps, but when ya can ride a bike that you won't have to fix if it breaks is another. Heck yeah, I would ride that thing like a cheap dirt bike.

I am basic motor school trained by CHP in 1989 but CHP wear gold helmets with blue and black trim. CHP doesn't ride Road Kings.
Pic taken at the Alameda County Sheriff training center in Dublin about 2 years ago.
