I am a new member from the UK, I need to buy a new engine for my bike, I would like to buy one in the USA and get it shipped to the uk, I don't know where to start, can anyone help and direct me where to start looking, are there any specialist people I can speak to..

Thanks for your help.

Why aren't you buying one through a dealer there? You have to pay import duties either way.
I'm going to guess Harley will treat engines like whole bikes and won't warranty gray market engines brought into another country.

Then you need to provide a lot more information.
Year and model of bike would be a start.

For me to buy an engine here will cost about $10,700 dollars, I think I might be cheaper buying one from the states and paying the duties, I have looked at a harley catalogue on line and see a CVO Screaming Eagle 110 engine for $5195. Big saving, I have sent a few mails to dealers but not much response.. How would I proceed.

Thanks. M

call them and send them money lol------------pick one in a smaller town to call as the parts dept will be more interested in the project. The harley dealer in Dodge city KS might be one or the dealer in Hays Ks. these guys are still kind of old time dealers

It looks like you are out of luck:

"Harley-Davidson has sent a letter to all dealers stating we no longer will
be able to ship overseas. We will only be able to sell to U.S. customers.

We will discontinue selling overeas before the Aug. 1st, 2011 deadline that
they have mandated."

I knew that was stated but I thought it still went on---------he needs to hire a agent in the US to achieve this for him.

I just found a crate engine short block in England for 2003 pound, about $4000 American.
What did you do the engine you have?
Is it shelled so badly it can't be repaired?

The pre-assembled bottom end. Pretty much everything but cylinders, pistons, heads, cams and covers.
