Default evo belt replacment

i am changing my drive belt and i am trying to get the clutch hub off the shaft. it just does not want to come off the shaft it seems that it may have a burr on the end of the shaft it moves a little but it wont budge when it gets to the end of the shaft also do i have to take the compensating sprocket off to get the inner primary cover off?. anyone got any suggestions to get the hub to slide off?? i also noticed a retaining ring that was inside the hub when i backed the nut off?? any ideas on that?? i have a factory manual but it did not say anything about a retaining ring in there.
thanks for any tips or help you guys may have.
