Hello All; I would like to do stage 1 on my 2013 96 in. engine. Problem is i'm an old man and I don't like loud pipes anymore. I've been racking my brain trying to figure out how to do this. Can I just put on different air filter with stock mufflers? will that help at all? I dunno, just don't like loud any more. Thanks.

 

There are plenty of mufflers that are not LOUD. I just put Full Boar mufflers on my 2007 Street Glide, as part of a Stage 1. They sound great and def. not too loud. They have baffles in them.

 

If you get some exhaust that you find too loud, you can always tone them down with a set of thunder torque inserts. MORE INFORMATION ON THESE

Another option is to just change out the Air Cleaner. This will help some, especially if you get one that puts all the hot, dirty, oily crankcase exhaust back into the atmosphere like you can see HERE.

JMHO leave the AF alone. You will most likely have to remap and its not a big increase for anything. The new Screamin Eagle mufflers are just a little bit louder. Change the exhaust. Again, JMHO

 

SE intake and SE exhaust. May want a tuner as well. I would recommend the TTS and a dyno tune.
