What do you wear during summer (80 plus) for quick rides
I'm curious what everyone wears for those rides where your running an errand or 2 around town. Basically where you're riding less than 25 miles under 55 mph. And specifically while it's hot. It's easy to get all geared up with sleeves when it's cooler
Typically I'm in t-shirt, jeans, boots, gloves, eye protection and half helmet.
Today I took a quick ride with what I had on which was shorts, t-shirt, eyewear, gloves, helmet, and boat shoes and enjoyed the ride. Basically only change was shorts and boat shoes.
I ask because I liked the comfort of a lighter shoe and am thinking I may start riding some in shorts and a well soled shoe, boat shoes weren't appropriate because of the soles. Again this is only around town. Anything of distance or speed I'm back to jeans and boots.
How many of you guys wear regular tennis shoes...and shorts...
Thoughts?

I try not to give in to the temptation to under dress for short rides. Does the texter, left turner, deer know how far away you are from home?
Always wear pants, although wonder how much protection they are. On long trips I will wear chaps, unless really hot. Just bought a Hillside vented leather cordura. Probably won't wear it over 80 degrees. Otherwise it is on. Under 50 I wear full leathers.

It was on a quick test ride not a half mile from home that I had my only accident in 17 years of heavy riding.
I should have wore what I normally wore but I had on boots with steel toes but a canvass upper. Ended up with two broken bones in my foot. Steel toe did its job though and saved me from losing a few toes. And even my relaxed gear was better than what many wear.
I wear good gear if it's a quick ride, or long one now.
It doesn't take me any longer to put on a good helmet than it does a crappy one, good jeans than it does shorts, or good boots than it does flip flops.
I truly hope you don't learn the the hard way how idiotic it is to ride in shorts.
If it's really hot, I have an armored Vanson Vent Max 4 cordura that I like. Otherwise, nothing protects like leather.

Jeans, boots, gloves and a mesh jacket. I have a EGC, so there is plenty of storage space so I don't have to carry my gear around when I get to my destination.
