Looking into a 255 cam change on my 2011 RG Ultra, new push rods, cam bearings.
How much labor charge is the norm?

if adjustable pushrods you shouldn't be looking at more then 3 hours at the most, if not adjustable add add a few more hours, shouldn't be more then 5 hours for non adjustable. Why not do it yourself and save the labor.

That's a little more of a project than I want to get into. Don't mind paying
for the labor, just want to make sure what it should be. I did all my exhaust
mod (header, slip ons high flow AC) but internal engine work is above my level.
Plus I'll be getting a Dyno tune with the cams.

Having never done it before, using adjustable pushrods, it took my buddy and I about 5-6 hours in the garage. A good shop should be able to do it in 3, 4 tops. I went with Woods 555s - overall very happy with the increase in power, would definitely recommend it.

I was quoted 700$ by my indy to install cams. Thats cams/labor/and all supporting pieces. I dont know if he intended to use adjustables or not...

It's close to a break even between paying for the adjustables, doing the adjustments or pulling the rockers to use the stock. For many the cost difference isn't worth introducting something else that could go wrong.

I'm having just my cam changed right now. Between the cams and the gaskets etc it was 490. I hot an andrews 57h which is about 100 less then the 255. It basically us the same cam. Andrews makes all harley caams. Anyway the labour is 79 an hour.its a 5 hr job. So with everything you want add 2 hrs. My total labour is 479 I believe. Plus you will want it dynoed. I would do the lifters and pushrods yourself later. Its not that hard. Instead replace your cam plate while tge cams are out

Local Dealers(2) are quoting $1200 w/cams/bearings/pushrods+ $400
for the Dyno. My Indy said $1500 with cams/bearings/pushrods/dyno/15k serv
which includes oil change. All Harley parts.

You do realize the dealer will go by 'book hours' and not what the mechanically inclined on this site say.

>>Andrews makes all harley cams<< THIS IS ABSOLUTELY NOT TRUE..
Or the millions of dollars worth of machinery grinding camshafts I saw with my own eyes are just for looks.
