Default Got me a bagger!

Hey Everyone,
So my girl and I have been riding the past couple years on an 01 Wideglide and taken a few trips here and there but wished we had more room. Well been looking on and off and never came across any deals...well I think that all changed today. Picked up an 2001 Electra with 19k miles all stock. Bike is about a 9 out of a ten and just needs some detailing...few minor scratches.

Put about 100 miles on today and wow what a difference from the wilde glide....it is a great ride...but do love the dyna too. Guess it be nice to have a choice.

Other than the cam tensioner anything else I should be checking. Fresh fluid in 3 holes and new rubber.

ThanksGot me a bagger!-20140607_114218.jpg

I went 74K before change the cam chain tensioners on my 01 Road King but always used Amsoil. I REALLY dig the blacked out front end on your bike!!!!

Keep an eye on the swingarm for cracks. If it cracks, upgrade to the 02-later style. Howard has some info HERE. Ditch the crossover pipe for either duals or 2-1 pipe. Didn't say if it was carb or fuelie. If fuelie it will be MM EFI which has been known to have some quirks depending on if you can find the right person to work with it. You have forged crank and Timken leftie so your bottom end is tough and could probably go with gear drive with no truing as the runout is generally within spec on the early years. Consider upgrading to 45 amp charging system as well.
