Default What to upgrade to?

Hey I currently have a 2000 Electra glide that I have set up like a street glide or can make a full out tourer when the wife comes. It's got 90000km and time to upgrade as the wife is spending more and more time with me on it.

I want to move up to a 2009-2013 bike but torn between a road glide or Road king and add a pack to it. I really think I would like a Road Glide but there harder to come across. And I'm thinking about a Road King to avoid the buffering I get in my helmet at speed with my shorter windshield.

So my question is does the road glide have a better over all feel over the electra glide and or does a road king make a suitable 2 u tourer?

I think in any situation the new chassis will make a huge diffrence in ride quality and stability?

Thanks in advance

I have a Road King and a Road Glide. Of course the Glide is nice to ride, especially on trips with cruise and stereo but the King is so versatile. Have the not so regular shield for it (LRS) plus a Memphis Shades fairing with an LRS Flat Top shield. Both have Mustang seats and Zumo 660 GPS units and boo koo upgrades everywhere including the engines. The King is more fun to ride in the tight turns but can't really say it is much more nimble as I ride the Glide like a sport bike.

Sorry, can't give input on an Electra Glide but would not hesitate to buy either bike you are interested in. The Glide may not be as versatile but long haul comfort would push me in that direction if I had to choose between the two. I have ridden the new chassis, although not very far or long and the pre 09 models ride just fine to me.

OL likes riding either bike when she is in the mood to ride.

All of the touring line from the Road King up are on the same platform so they're all going to be good for touring. I kinda get the feeling though that you're wanting something with more long distance amenities like the Road Glide would offer. I still think the a Road King is the best looking bike that Harley is making right now.

The main reason for the upgrade is my suspension is getting wore and sloppy feeling.... I had swing arm bearings done and fork rebuilt this winter. If I could find a suitable way to stiffen up the frame and get better rear shocks I may keep it around. It's got the 95 kit with cams and hauls a$$, but need to keep the missus happy.

I own a road glide. After riding several bikes I can’t see owning another bike without a fairing. Just my opinion

I would keep what you have and fix the suspension.

Thanks I was looking at the progressive site and think I'm going to order in their air shocks and a stabilizer...... And the engine is good currently does all it needs to I was just looking to make the ride a little more comfortable for 2 up riding and make it feel more secure through the corners. I'm also going to try progressive springs and a heavier oil in the front end.
Thanks for all the input
