Champion Reverse Gear

Champion Reverse Gear
Anybody, using the Champion Reverse Gear? Dealer showed me one on a trike and said it works just as good on a two-wheeler. Not as easy to move the bike around as it used to be. Was thinking having a reverse would be easier on the legs.

The older I get, the more I think I will go ahead and get one. Goldwing riders have been using reverse for many years. I always thought it was a good idea. Think about it. 840lb Ultra, 200 lb me, 190 lb wife, plus 0 to 70 lbs of stuff, and a pelvis I shattered 34 years ago. It's past time for me.

I have one but it's on my trike. I don't know why it would be any different on 2 wheels than on 3. I love it. I much prefer the Champion mechanical reverse over any electric reverse like Harley uses on the Tri. Just be sure it's in neutral and not in 1st gear when you engage it. The tranny doesn't like being in 1st and reverse at the same time!

I installed a reverse gear made by AIM http://www.aim-tamachi.com/home.php?cat=73.
Why I picked the AIM over Champion is that the AIM reverse has "break off" tabs in case you ever accidentally engage reverse and a forward gear at the same time. Only thing that will happen is that the tabs will have to be replaced so no real damage will likely occur to the transmission. Mine's on a two-wheeler.
