Default How do you deal with tailgaters?

I have asked quite a few friends and none of us can really come up with a good answer. Pull over and let them by, throw them a finger behind the back, brake check, take off like a bat out of hell. No matter what you do there is always one.

If I can't lose them in traffic I get them in front of me somehow. It's usually no problem to lose them though.

Pennies.....or with the crazy people out here now, just pull over and let them pass. No need to get all worked up,it isn't worth it.

I slow down and they always go around. I do that when I'm in the car too. Brake checking just makes them mad, why I don't know, since they're the ones in the wrong.

I'm not sure what the big mystery is here. Move over & let 'em go by. I'm out there to enjoy my day and any scenario surrounding a tailgater (brake check, flipping 'em off, tossing a bolt through the windshield, or any of the plethora of other moronic aggressive actions) gets in the way of that. It takes 10 seconds to resolve this issue and get back to enjoying the ride. So, that's what I do.

Brake checking a 4 wheeled, 2,000lb rolling slab of metal is usually a death wish when your on two wheels. You could do what I do and thats just pull over if it's safe or just slow down to the point where they feel the need to pass you. If that doesn't work I suggest the use of a "get back" whip.
