Default Shipping bike across crountry.

I'm going to need a bike shipped from Los Angeles to the east coast end of this summer. I'm trying to make this as easy as I can (also not crazy expensive). Any suggestions? I would like to just drop it off at the dealership and pick it up here but I'm not sure if they do that sort of thing?

Thanks

Almost all motorcycle shippers do door-to-door delivery, assuming both pick up and drop off locations are easily accessible.
CA to NC, you are looking at around $700..$1000 from a shipper with full cargo insurance (that you really want).
I am telling you this. Check the reviews online, but do not assume they will match your service.
I had a bike shipped from Wolverine Cycles (from TX to CA), which has 4..5 stars reviews, and the service was late and the bike covered in all sort of crap when it reached the destination (to the point I doubt it was actually transported in a closed container, like I paid for).
OTOH, I had one shipped with MotorcycleShippers (which many talk crap about), and bike was picked up and delivered ahead of time, in perfect conditions.

Check your local dealer. Mine offered a service where you dropped it off at the dealer and they delivered it to another dealer at your destination. Cost was the same as what I could find myself so I figured why not have the dealers hold onto it until I get there to pick it up.

Think I may go with this if I can. Pick up location isn't really ideal for a truck to get into. Drop off date is flexible so not too worried about that as long as it's taken care of. I found these people: http://www.funtransport.com/ on the HD website. Save about 50 dollars with HOG and HOG insures for 15k. I don't have HOG and didn't plan on getting it, but IF I can save money and get a free map I may sign up for it.

Dropping it off somewhere near where I'm staying in LA would be best. Waiting around on a driver could turn frustrating I think.

I've never used these guys, but - http://haulbikes.com/

Doesn't seem too pricey.

$675

The link on the HD website is also about $675 and they have a drop off location near where I'm staying.

Dealer in LA also sent me to Haulbikes and another company which wanted $850
