Recovered stolen Harley. What now?!
A couple of years ago my 98 fat boy was stolen. this was a nice bike. chrome everywhere. custom paint job. the works. it was actually a show bike so i paid a lot of money for it in 2006. well it was recovered not too long after it was stolen. however the tanks and fenders were taken off and spray painted black and i think it has some wiring problems and definitely needs some work before it'll run again. I'm not quite sure what i should do with it. Basically i want to get rid of it but I'm not sure if I should put some money into it to get it running or just try to sell it as is. I really don't have the money to fix it and would like to just sell it. Does anyone have any clue if I would be able to sell it as is and how much i would get for it? Thanks

Few things
From you local insurance guy..
* Is your title branded or is it clear?
* Does the bike carry the original VIN or was it given a state issued VIN
Either of the above you can sell the bike but each will deval the bike
If you had insurance and you were paid - you do not own the bike. You need to contact your insurance co.
If the bike has a clear title and its not too far, i'd take it off your hands as a project if the price is right.
