No one can decide for you but you.
I have never bought an extended warranty on anything.
I have have made the bet and won.
I have never had any major issues or repairs on anything I've ever bought and I'm 63.
It's a gamble if you like to gamble, don't buy the warranty.
If you want the peace of mind and want the warranty to pay for covered warranty items, go for it.
You may or may not ever need it.
I've been very lucky.

Bet 1500+ dollars that my bike will need more than that in repairs? And the only way to win is if it ends up being a pos? Nope.

I say yes, its worth it. My dad has an 09 ultra classic and at 75,000 miles a bearing in the engine went bad, if it wasn't for the extended warranty he would have had to pay over $5,000 parts and labor.

This is exactly why I got it. It's a good thing to have if you plan to have your bike for a long time, like I do.

Or if you plan to do a lot of riding and traveling, like I do.

If you ride a lot miles 8-10K+ a year then something will eventually wear out. So IMO...it is worth it.
I have ESP for both my bikes and I have used it on both bikes.

I think an ESP is probably good for those who are touring and expected to put up the miles. For most of us in town riders with tech less bikes Self insurance is a much better idea and we are not tied to a dealer as well. Anyone can buy a 120 and have it installed for $5000 by an Indy. I don't think I would pay Harley $5000 to "fix" an engine When new ones can be bought from Harley for $3000 which is still cheaper than buying a new bike.

I just re-newd(sp?) my ESP. what sucks, is it has paid off.....kinda sad, is it not Harley Davidson!? I'm on my 3rd starter, clutch splines failed, been in the shop twice for primary bearing failures. Too bad they can't fix it the first time.

Like most have said if you ride a lot it might be worth it. You said you only ride 3k per year which is not much at all so it might not be worth it for you. I have the extended plan and utilized it for a base cylinder weep repair at 20k miles so I was glad I have it.

It is a gamble, pure and simple. To buy it is to bet your bike will break while a warranty is in force. Reality is most people who buy it never get their money's worth out of it...which is why MOCO can offer it in the first place.

It's like Las Vegas. They don't have all those lavish casinos, bright neon lights, and dancing fountains because most people go home winners.
